CULTURAL EXPERIENCE – AK MUSEUM
The reproduction of reality in miniature is a practice and a form of expression that has accompanied human beings throughout their evolution and history.
Through this project, AK Interactive aims to offer a comprehensive and historical vision of model making. The objective is to grant it the importance and transcendence it has, as well as to bring the knowledge of this discipline to all kinds of public; spreading the culture of modeling and promoting its hobby aspect in an innovative way.
MUSEUM OF MINIATURES AND HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF SCALE MODELING AND ITS MATERIALS
Scale models have their origins in prehistoric times and their evolution runs parallel to that of human beings. Scale models are effective in different fields: industrial, architectural, educational, artistic or simply as a hobby.
In their beginnings, scale models were crude, and the scales could be indeterminate or without much rigor or accuracy. In addition, they were usually conditioned by the materials and tools.
In this museum through its showcases can be seen how over the centuries, mankind has evolved towards a very high quality model making.
There was a time when plastic models were the dream of every child (and adult) and local hobby stores were centres of pilgrimage, since at that time the favorite pastime of children and adults was to assemble models, made of wood, metal, paper or even plastic.
Model representations may encompass any type of object, and the fact that they were models to be built and painted made them a very complete and handcrafted hobby. Nowadays, this hobby proves that many people still prefer to develop their skills, building something tangible with their own hands rather than spending hours in front of a screen.
Advances in materials and tools have made it possible that today we can enjoy authentic works of art that could be compared to the best sculptures and canvases of the greatest artists.
AK Museum is a unique place where the timeline of the history of modeling is presented, as well as its materials, being able to enjoy a great variety of pieces; from replicas of the II AC to unique original pieces and works of the best modelers from all corners of the planet.
What the showcases protect is the result of the work and patience of many modelers, as well as the AK team, which has collected works of art from all over the world for the last 25 years to be able to carry out this project.
Our wish is that you enjoy and get surprised by every single detail in every corner of the tour.
